Darkness To See Stars

Our trials, our tribulations, our tragedies
are forgotten, are floated, are fractured.

We continue to disregard our flaws,
we don’t learn from our mistakes,
We refuse to acknowledge our let downs,
Our negative interactions and actions are left behind

Yet even the lowest of lows
need to be the seeds, planted and nurtured
even surrounded by endless darkness
Watered and looked after
Being blinded to see the path forward
does not deem the path is absent

You must persist and not dismiss
the force of failures’ fist can be the motivation to succeed,
as no matter how consuming the darkness, it is necessary
as darkness is needed to see stars,
rain to grow flowers,
cold to feel warmth,

Brightest stars shine through the deepest blacks.
