It’s Too Loud

The conversations intertwine,
muffled by one another
nothing understandable
but consonants uncover
glimpses of audio graspable

the people on the chairs,
concentrated on speaking
concentrate of sentences squeezed
seeds of knowledge leaking,
the cafe’s corners pleased

introductions or in earnest
the mess of words broken
as the air fogs confusion
every thought is spoken
clarity an occlusion

people in different states of mind
meeting from interstate
not to stay, but to lay
their emotions on the plate
symphonic voices meet midway

Each seat various emotions
confusing and loud
unable to focus
on my own, cloud
peace goes unnoticed

External onlookers appreciate the environment
Internal workers knowledgeable of the confusion
Overcrowded with noise, internal noise.
Restricted to bone white walls
The lower notes heard from outside.
Questions asked, sincerity avoided.

“It’s too loud in here”
